You know, 5 years with anything is more than enough to make a through review of this marvelous phone (for its time). Let's get to it.
It has a great phone call quality, has a noise isolation function to improve calls over the earpiece.
Music app is bright, the songs play just fine and the mono speaker on its back is very loud. The earphones supplied are just crap. The FM Radio reception is stable, requires some earphones to use it. It supports MP3, WMA and AAC. Video app supports 3GP. The screen is too small to use the Video app.
It has Bluetooth 2.1+A2DP, you can use Bluetooth stereo speakers.
Calendar/Alarm functions are basic, but that's all you need anyway.
Typing on the Message app is fast, no problems using the buttons. You should get used to the T9, though.
Voice recorder is pure crap, it relies on the phone's mic. Also, it only featured a minute of record each time.
Camera/Video Recording is basic The videos are too small and have low frame counting (QCIF @ 15FPS). The 2MP camera could shoot UXGA photos (which look like someone that just woke up, even on bright sunlight). On top of this, there is a 7-second processing time before shooting another photo.
The Internet browser consumes a lot of traffic and suffers from the low RAM storage. Its modem uses GPRS/EDGE, with peaks of 465Kbps, which is too slow for browsing the Internet. Better-off using UC Browser, which is faster than this.
Its UI is fast and the buttons responsive, but with time the arrow keys became...

- Good call quality. It features some noise isolation.
- Kinda fast for what it does.
- Battery last a week.
- Sturdy, dropped countless times and still working.
- RDS makes FM Radio reception stable
Cons
- Too little internal space, MicroSD expansion is a must.
- Little RAM space, some apps break/doesn't open.
- Its UI is Flash-based, so if you lose Flash on yours (like i did), some apps (Music Player, Radio) won't work
- Internet browsing is too slow.

Nice phone, Music quality is also very good. but it have been twice repaired due to hardware problem. Camera is normal.music keys are easy to use. its design is also nicee...enjoy the music plus phone

FALTU . i will explain how , i was gifted the phone on my bday and after that the phone was working properly . i didnt like it very much bcoz i also have corby pro and c1 01 which i prchased in november. after my bday some wgat after 6 months i ws goin to classes and suddenly 5130 and corby pro fell badly from my hand in an mud hole . my corby shutted down , but 5130 worked. after some what 2 hrs it didnt work just bcoz its internal chip got shock circuit. and now my corby is still working and 5130 gave a service centre bang bang. 5130 is a crap. in compare of samsung touch screen phone its just a waste of money and time c1 is instad a better choice.

Its features are good.specially the music keys are its most attractive feature.It has an average quality camera,but it is fits in its price range.The biggest disadvantage according to me is its poor hardware.I have been using this phone for more than a year and it almost stayed 3 months in the service centre,it has also been replaced once.

Hello everyone this is what i have to say about the Nokia 5130:
This is the best 2G phone ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its affordable. It has a lot of mods game software etc. It has amazingly user friendly OS (meaning my grandma can use it) the graphics are awesome (well all 240x320 do) music quality is not perfect but extreemly good. bluetooth hacking softwares are available. most game have multiplayer option (through bluetooth). You can personalize it to an extreeme level. its is just awesome. And all the tech pros (like myself) can make as it complicated as we like.

- Opera mini (this is a browser that helps internet speed)
- Graphics good (especially if you are a game lover like me)

this is a great little phone for people on a budget. because while it is cheap it boasts a very stylish look and feel. it is crammed full of features with a bright, vibrant and crisp screen. the only down sides to this phone is the lack of megapixels in its camera, it is a little to 'bling' for my liking which means it gets covered in fingerprints and the number 2 key is sometimes hard to use as the navigation key gets in the road. but the pros far outway the cons.

this phone locked-up on me and nokia doesn't have afix for it. i only had it for two monthsthis phone has nothing good to offer. i don't like the stiff keypad and the screen flickers from time to timewhat's with the poor build? the phone feels like it's gonna fall apart. nokia told me it's my problem and that they aren't gonna do anythig about it.what a bunch of a** h****.

BUY BUY BUY ITs Realy nice phone
Hi, I m having this mobile since last 8 months. Its a Nice Phone in the range of 5500-6000 Rs.(surly don't think for any other mobile in this range). Multimedia Supportable, Expandable memory, Like fast internet speed, good and easy features. Please refer to this site for more adv details. dont go on the snaps provided on net. In original this phone is nice and a nice finishing. you can hold it in ur hand................
Some had complain reguarding hanging that is becaz of the expandable card so get it replaced....
3.5mm jack supportable so u can directly connect to ur woofers speakers. u can hear FM on you speakers...............

Worth buy !
I bought this new phone 2 days back. Its good design, Light weight, stylish, good sound quality, loud speaker sound, easy menu navigation and other good features has impressed me. Music lovers can go for this with a small budget and it'll prove it's worth ! Overall a good phone for a cheap price.

hii frnds,just bought this phone one week back,initially didnt have any idea to get this phone,thought of getting SE....bt bought this phone half mindly,bt after came to knw abt this phone i just started to love it...its grt phone for music lovers,has very good loudspeaker,comparable equal to SE phones,such a grt effort,built in 1 gb memory card,the audio is perfect both in headphones as well as loudspeaker,very sleek nd slim,excellent battery back up..just got worried about this issue,bt once started using it my worries got away,expensive nd worthy to buy it,didnt found any defect till,so anybody who wanna get the phone in their budget i would recommend to go with this....

I guess it´s a good buy cause it has good speaker, changeable themes (on player and radio themes can be set different), Micro SD memory card support, stylish look, 3 small flashing lights on left side, many games, charging and earphones can be used at the same time aso.

Nokia 5130 an powerful performer
I have being using this phone for a while and i simply love it. I have also used Nokia N81, but 5130 is better as it is slim, has longer battery backup, Faster navigation through menus, etc. This phone is best alternative for Nokia 7210 Supernova. This phone has some drawbacks. This are poor camera quality, no flash, no n-gage function. But overall its a best buy.
GOOD NEWS FOR THOSE WHO ARE PLANNING TO BUY THIS PHONE, IT IS NOW AVAILABLE IN SILVER COLOUR ALSO.

I love this phone as this have an excellent sound quality with light effects on the side (depends on the color of the phone) and browsing, gaming, camera is also really good on this. I miss this kind of phone that Nokia had during those years. I wish that HMD Nokia will reborn xpress music phones once again and other Nokia phones before that are a must have during the past.

Love this phone, 8 years daily usage for talk and text, 8 gig of my favorite music. still using it now. Only recently I bought a cheap China basic phone, dismayed by it's performance, I discarded it to my junk items. If I want to use the internet, I shift to laptop.
